Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity…
“Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides
and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a
second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire. Pierre
Teilhard de Chardin”
Pierre Teilhard de Chardin was born in Château of Sarcenat at Orcines, France, on 1 May 1881;
he passed away on April 10,1955. He was a French idealist, philosopher and a Jesuit
priest trained as a paleontologist and geologist.
Pierre conceived the idea of the Omega Point - a spiritual belief and a scientific thought that everything in the
universe is destined to spiral towards a final point of divine unification.
Although many of Teilhard's writings were
censored by the Catholic Church during his lifetime mainly because of his views
on original sin, Teilhard has been afterwards praised by Pope Benedict XVI as
well as other catholic figures, and his theological teachings were cited by
Pope Francis in the 2015 encyclical, Laudato si'. The response to his writings
by evolutionary biologists has been, still today and with some exceptions, majorly
negative.
Pierre Teilhard was spirituality awakened by his mother, Berthe de Dompiere the
grand-niece of the great philosopher of the previous century, Voltaire. When Pierre was 12, he went
to the Jesuit college of Mongré, in Villefranche-sur-Saône, where he completed
baccalaureates of philosophy and mathematics. Then, in 1899, he entered the
Jesuit novitiate at Aix-en-Provence, where he began a philosophical,
theological and spiritual career.
If in the eighteen hundreds there was
someone awakening spiritually and
spreading the word like Pierre Teilhard, why still today the awaken are still a
minority?
I will leave this question unanswered giving
you space for your own conclusion but one thing I will say, it took me many
lifetimes to arrive where I am now, and even in this lifetime I have lived
about three quarters of it, so I have hope that one by one we all be awaken and
evolve, in order to be truthful to who we are, and to what we were created for.
With the conviction of who God is and that
he is above all religions, a born into Christianity and true admirer of Jesus,
I have followed the catholic church for most of my life and taught religion
adapting it to these days, trying to give the holy texts the most appropriate interpretation - but it was never easy as the “punishing God” and sins - always contradicted (in
my view) the all loving GOD and the GOD who gave humans the freewill, no other
creature has. My questions were always
left unanswered with a nod or a change of conversation. Not soon enough I came to the conclusion
the God painted in the picture of each religion is surely not my God, and
although I am not alone in this belief, this expedition is sometimes a lonely
one.
We will go into this debate a bit further
in another post as this is just another introduction to what my journey has
been.
Hearing half-truths or sort of coded
messages, when I was told by a dear friend to always believe my best friend, totally
off guard to what she was referring to, I asked – Who? And she promptly replied: YOU - Your Intuition!
And so I did! But it took a long while to know
the way, as well as to trust my capabilities!
The birth of the Awakening of a New Moon was immersing for too many years and I was literary
sent to someone who told me so; to my surprise I was not alone that beautiful spring
day – as I am not alone writing you these words and neither are you.
Have a great bright and shiny day.
Much Love and Light!
